Our story
Faith Awakening Ministry is a Christ-centred, Word-driven ministry based in Freetown, Sierra Leone. We exist to see lives transformed by the Word of God, in our community, across our nation and around the world, through preaching, teaching, prayer, worship and audiovisual media.
The ministry was founded on 1 March 2023 by Andrew Sahr Yamba, who serves as General Overseer. It is led by Isatu Folleh Yamba, Pastor and Head of the Ministry. From our headquarters in Freetown we are committed to reaching the layperson and the last person on earth with the message of Christ.
Our vision
To see the whole world come to know Jesus Christ through the Word of God, with Faith Awakening Ministry known across Sierra Leone and the nations as a ministry that transforms lives.
Our mission
- To preach and teach the Word of God with clarity, power and love, so that lives are truly transformed.
- To reach our local community, the nation of Sierra Leone and the nations of the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
- To carry the Word of God far and wide through audiovisual media: television, online video, music, drama and film.
- To reach the layperson, and the last person on earth, with the message of Christ.
- To make disciples who are grounded in the Word, devoted to prayer and living out their faith every day.
- To show the love of Christ through practical compassion for families and people in need.
- To raise up leaders, workers and missionaries who will carry this mission to the next generation.

What we believe

The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God and the final guide for faith and life.
One God
We believe in one God who exists eternally as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus is the Son of God, born of a virgin, who lived without sin, died for our sins, rose bodily from the dead and will return in glory.
Salvation by grace
We believe salvation is a gift of God, received by faith in Jesus Christ, not earned by good works.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit lives in every believer, empowers them to live holy lives and gives gifts for serving the church.
The Church
We believe the church is the body of Christ, called to worship, grow in the Word, love one another and take the gospel to the world.
Baptism and communion
We practise water baptism for believers and share the Lord's Supper in remembrance of Christ.
Eternal life
We believe in the resurrection of the dead, eternal life for those in Christ and the return of Jesus to judge the living and the dead.
